I am a normal person, not the party type.. and many people are surprised I am still single and not married. I am looking to meet a man to have a long term relationship with and start a family.I am feeling hopeless and not sure if I will meet someone interesting.. I used to go out joining classes, taking up hobbies, but never had any luck.
I have met my friends extended network, and again no luck.
So now, I don’t go out much.. especially since many of my friends are busy with their own lives getting married and engaged.

Can you suggest any good ideas/how to meet a decent guy? I am getting worried I will be alone forever.

Dear Seeking Love,
First off, I doubt you will be single forever. However, if you continue to sulk and focus on it you will only give off the vibe of desperation. Which in turn only pushes potential love interests away. And trust me, I understand the social pressure of “needing” to get married before you are 30. I wasn’t married until 27 and I was “late” compared to my friends. What I would focus on right now is rekindling your interests again. And maybe even trying a few things you never tried and always wanted to. Life is too short to wait for something to happen- so make it happen :) Find things that you love and start participating. Generally, if you stop looking it will come to you and the best part is if you more involved and out and about the better chance you will have of running into Mr. Right!

Oh come on…after a weeks worth of quotes how could I NOT cover inspirational quotes :) I hope everyone has enjoy my random off the beat path for this week. I really enjoyed researching the information as well as hearing back from you about your thoughts and feelings. Advice will resume tomorrow I appreciate those of you who have been brave enough to speak your truth and ask a question. If you have a question or would like to submit a topic please email me at honestgoodadvice@gmail.com

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant” Robert Louis Stevenson

“Go confidentaly in the direction of your dreams” -Thoreau

And to cap off my week of quotes a incredibly beautiful display of the journey and purpose of life:

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!

Acceptance, Warts and All

I've been looking through so many pictures over the last few weeks, reminiscing about years gone by.  My husband and I will share our 21st anniversary Friday and I guess that has put me in the mood for memory review.  I look at our pictures together throughout our entire 26 years of being a couple, and see the vast changes in both of us.

Week of Quotes Day 2 – Life

Week of Quotes Day 1 – Music

I am taking a break from advice responses this week to highlight a few quotes that I have come across that have touched or moved me at some point in my life. Today I have decided to focus on quotes that discuss music. When I was younger I wrote poetry, quite frequently in fact. As I’ve gotten older and busier (or so it seems) I really don’t have the time to play with words on paper as much as I would like. And I have always been a huge fan of music my entire life. People generally ask, “What type of music do you like?” I reply, “All of it, everything from rap to opera…yes seriously” If something strikes a chord (pun intended :) ) with me then it just resonates within my soul and heart. Poetry put to music creates a song that creates a long lasting impression. In fact, when hearing an old song it instantaneously invokes a memory  that I might have long since forgotten. So here are a list of quotes that for myself personally explain what music means to me. If you have music related quotes (not lyrics…save those for a future posting:) ) then please add them in a comment below.

“I haven’t understood a bar of music in my life, but I have felt it.”- Igor Stravinsky

“Music is the voice that tells us that the human race is greater than it knows” – Napolean Bonaparte

**Advice will continue in a week, if you have a question or would like to submit a topic please email me at honestgoodadvice@gmail.com**

We used to be great friends, until these popular girls came into our class. Us and the populars used to hate each other but now she sucks up to them, and puts me down. She always calls me a f*ck tard when i make little mistakes…she wouldn’t say that to the other girls. She also calls me ugly EVERY DAY. She says its just a joke and it really hurts me and all I say is okay in a sad voice and she laughs as if calling me ugly is the funniest thing ever.
She takes me for granted, I always buy her lunch and offer to help her with her homework but she never appreciates it..

Also, she thinks shes better than me because she has 60 more friends on FB than me and shes prettier.

If I stand up to her everyone will hate me. She will turn everyone against me, my friends are hers and they seem to like her more. :(

help?

Sometimes people don’t know how to stand on their own nor think for themselves. You need to stand up to her and you need to stop helping her out financially and with school work. A good friend will treat you with respect and kindness. If people decide to listen to her when you walk away then they aren’t good friends either. Get involved in the community or doing something that interests you to separate yourself from this group. I know it’s hard and scary but it’s the best thing you can do for yourself. The sooner you do this the better. You might be surprised you might gain friends that respect you for being honest and telling it like it is.
